MEET DR. ELION
Dr. Audrey Elion is a Native Memphian and a proud product of Memphis City Public Schools. She received her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling and College Student Personnel from The University of Memphis. Subsequently, she earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at The University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Elion is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Elion is the Co-Director of Sowing Justice and owner of Elion Management Consulting, LLC. She is a substitute teacher, an Arise2Read tutor, and a TnAchieves mentor with Memphis Shelby County Schools. She serves as a board member for Freed Life, which focuses on addressing human trafficking in West Tennessee. Additionally, Dr. Elion serves as a member of the Parent Leadership Training Institute Civic Design Team. Dr. Elion is a former Adjunct Faculty for Penn State, The University of Memphis, and the Memphis College of Arts.
Dr. Elion served as the Mental Health Representative for the Memphis–Shelby County Education Association and was a member of the Tennessee Education Association. She is the former Special Assistant – Trauma Informed Intervention for the Juvenile Court of Memphis/Shelby County. She is the Greater Memphis Regional Chair of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network. Previously, she served as the program director of youth for both Delta Fine Arts and the Memphis Beat the Odds Programs.
Dr. Elion is a Triumph Over Trauma and a Building Strong Brains Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) trainer. I am also a certified trainer in suicide prevention programs such as: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
